OK, so I think I figured out why our GM is crazy. This past week s/he announced that our payhroll hours are going down another 100 hours this next month. However, we are still staying open till 11 every day. Does anyone else find that crazy? We are open almonst 100 hours a week, our schedules have resulted in the managers & supervisors being on the floor almost 100% of the time (not that that's a bad thing) and there is never enough staff to cover the registers for our extremely high maintenance customers. In short we're already spread too thin, and this month will be worse.
I know that the idiots at home office recently changed store hours in many stores, but I don't understand why we are open so late.
- Every other store in our shopping center is closed by 9
- Employees outnumber customers after 10 except in the cafe which closes early
I've come into work several times in the last week to find only managers or supervisors running the store, and our schedule doesn't get posted until Saturday so we don't know until the day before if we're working. I don't disagree with our CEO that we need to get our financial house in order, but this is ridiculous.
